January 20, 1927 — May 26, 2019

KATHRYN M. SCOTT The life of KATHRYN M. SCOTT of Wallingford, PA, age 92, will be celebrated on Monday, June 3, 2019 10:00 a.m. at St. Kevin's Church 200 W. Sproul Road in Springfield. Visiting hours with the family will be at the church at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery located at 3301 W. Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19150. Born January 20, 1927 to William C. Scott and Anna R. (nee Hagan) Scott in the Olney section of Philadelphia, Kathryn was a 1944 graduate and active alumnae of Little Flower High School. "Scotty" began working for Household Finance Corporation, (now HSBC), in high school, and continued with the company for 45 years, retiring in 1990. Kathryn lived with her parents in Olney, commuting into downtown Philadelphia for many years. In 1978, she moved to Bryn Mawr when HFC relocated their headquarters to the suburbs. Later, Kathryn moved to Plush Mills in Wallingford. Wherever she lived, Kathryn was a devout church attendant, whether it was Incarnation in Olney, (fondly called "Inky"), Our Mother of Good Counsel in Bryn Mawr, or St. Kevin's in Springfield. Kathryn loved to travel and take pictures. Along with photo memories, Kathryn brought back dolls from her trips, and enjoyed displaying her extensive international collection. Together with vacation pictures, she documented all the family events, and recorded the family history in her vast treasury of over 100 photo albums. At some point during every family gathering, festivities would pause for "Aunt Kathryn" to take a picture. Kathryn died peacefully at Plush Mills on May 26, 2019. Family members celebrating her life are nephew, Joseph A. Madden, Jr. (Jay) and his wife Sue Pohanka, of Long Beach Island, NJ and Bryn Mawr, PA. along with niece, Barbara Madden Williams, and her husband, Kenneth L. Williams, of Damariscotta, ME. She is pre-deceased by her sister, Helen Scott Madden of Springfield, PA. Kathryn's grand-niece and grand-nephews are: Will Madden of Princeton, NJ, Jack Madden of Ithaca, NY, Patrick Williams of Edmonton, Alberta, CAN, Katie Williams of Freeport, ME, and Thomas Williams of Damariscotta, ME. Should friends desire, contributions in Kathryn's name may be sent to Little Flower High School, 1000 W. Lycoming Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140, 215-455-6900.
